5 hours of Elective Professional Learning

Our Primary Libraries: Creative Collaboration 2021 Zoom conference will offer some challenges but still aims to build on the collaboration and creativity experienced at previous conferences. We are offering six concurrent workshops and one whole group 100% engagement session, as well as presentations from ASLA’s 2019 Teacher Librarian of the Year and coordinator of the national Students Need School Libraries campaign, Holly Godfree, and UWA’s Dr Margaret Merga, whose research provides context and solid data, critical for advocacy and the development of our profession.

Workshops are led by TLs, and thanks is due to our presenters for their patience during the many iterations of the 2020/21 conference, and their commitment to providing you with targeted and practical sessions, designed to promote sharing of knowledge and experience. Resources presented and created in our workshops will be added to the bank of free, practical, relevant and readily applicable lesson material and library resources found at the PLCC website: .

Creative Collaboration gives us the chance to share the same virtual space to swap ideas and resources, and to extend our professional learning networks by connecting with TLs outside our own community of schools. We sincerely hope that many TLs from beyond the Sydney region will take advantage of the online format and join us on April 28.

This year we will several breakout/interest room available to you during your morning tea and lunch breaks:

  • Kate from Bloomin’ Books/Better Read than Dead will be on hand to discuss your book needs and take orders
  • Karl Belik from BookZone will discuss your manga needs, advising on the suitability of  individual books and series for our primary audience
  • Oliver Support: the Oliver team will also be available for any Oliver issues you may have, but have asked that you send your questions/queries before the conference to - to make things run a little smoother on the day.

This is an online ZOOM conference. Details will be sent to participants once they have registered.

Note: registrations must be made via RegoDirect (VMS). VMS will pass all your registration details to MyPL. This conference is no longer NESA accredited. It will provide 5 hours of Elective PD.
